Lahm Bi Siniya – Tray baked Kofta

Ingredients
  • 1 kg Minced beef 80-20%
  • 2 Large onions minced finely
  • 6 clove Minced Garlic
  • 3 Medium potatoes peeled and Sliced
  • 1/3 cup Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Arabic 7 spices
  • 2 tsp Allepo Pepper
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Serve with rice

    Place the minced beef in a large bowl, add the chopped onions, garlic, half of the olive oil and all the spices to the bowl and massage until well combined.

    Add the peeled and sliced potatoes to the base of a large casserole dish or a pyrex and cover the base fully.

    Split the meat mixture into four and place them in each corner of the dish and start flattening the meat to cover the potatoes fully. Make sure the meat reaches the edges of the dish.

    Using a large knife create cuts diagonally, so that the kofta pieces are cut before it bakes.

    Place a slice of tomato on top of each kofta piece. Drizzle the rest of the live oil and bake in a preheated oven on 160c fan for 45-50 minutes or until the potatoes are fully cooked.

    Serve with rice, salad and cucumber mint yogurt.
