The Benefits of Nuts

Nuts are known to be healthy and actually essential in a well balanced diet. They are a good source of protein and regularly eating nuts has so many healthy benefits as they contain many substances needed by the body.

Nuts contain fats and we usually get the impression that this is a bad thing but its the opposite! They are mostly healthy unsaturated fats which help to lower bad cholesterol levels.

The best thing about it is that it doesn’t matter which nuts you choose to eat, they each come with their own health benefits. Walnuts for example are known to contain higher amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, while almonds or macadamia nuts are quite heart healthy.

Just like this recipe, you can mix and match any type of nuts you like!

December is known for celebration and family gatherings, and as much as we love it, being the host and having to think about what to serve does take time and a lot of effort. All you have to do with this recipe is mix your roasted nuts with your spices and pop in the oven, giving you enough time to get dressed, ready to greet your guests. Alternatively, I like to make them weeks ahead at times and store them in an airtight container in my pantry. Then just like that, I have the perfect snack to take along to any gathering or put out when guests come around.
