Pro Tips for Easy Homemade Yogurt
Set a wooden spoon on top of the milk pot so it does not over boil.
It is preferable not to use the yogurt on the same day it is formed. Leave it for the next day!
After the initial development time of 10-12 hours, the yogurt must be stored in the fridge.
The yogurt will gradually change flavour after 10 days, so it is best not to be consumed after this period.

Leave some yogurt that you can use for the next time you make this delicious homemade yogurt.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my homemade yogurt too watery?
This happens if you add the starter yogurt when the milk is still too hot or it has become too cold.
Should I stir the yogurt while making it?
Do not stir it at any time; not while the milk is boiling, not when adding yogurt, nor when it is incubating! This might interrupt the process of yogurt formation.
Ingredients
- Whole fat milk preferably organic cow milk
- Whole fat Greek yogurt
Steps to Prep
First, put the milk in a pot and bring it to a boil over medium heat. It needs around 13 minutes. Then, let it boil for about 10 minutes. Switch off and let it cool for 5-6 minutes.
To make sure that the milk is ready, dip your pinky into the milk. It should not burn you nor be lukewarm.
Now, split the milk into two jars. Add 1.5 tablespoons of whole fat Greek yogurt to each jar.
Cover the jars and wrap each with two kitchen towels. Then, cover each with a small blanket to keep it warm. Set the jar in a shaded corner in your kitchen. Make sure it is not in your way. Leave it wrapped for 10 hours.
After 10 hours…
Move the wrap and the lid. The milk should be hardened, so it does not spill or come out of the jar. It may have the slightest liquid on top.
If this is what you get, place the jar in the fridge without a lid for one or two hours till this liquid is absorbed. Yogurt is ready!
Finally, put the lid back and keep the yogurt in your fridge for about 7-10 days.
In case the milk does not harden within 10 hours, wrap it again and give two extra hours. Then, follow the same process.
